10th Annual Community Forum

Image
Invitation Details: Wednesday, December 16th, 9-11am

When

9 – 11 a.m., Dec. 16, 2026

Please join us for the Tucson Poverty Project’s 10th Annual Community Forum, where University of Arizona students,
faculty, and community partners will share findings from our ongoing survey of low-income households across Pima County.

When: Wednesday, December 16th, 9-11am    Where: Habitat for Humanity Tucson, 3501 N. Mountain Avenue

Drawing on a decade of community-engaged research, we will highlight the challenges local households face in meeting basic needs, accessing essential services, and building economic security. Our goal is to bring research and lived experience together to help inform local policy decisions and strengthen community responses to poverty.

This year’s forum will also examine how recent and anticipated changes to the social safety net, including potential cuts to public assistance programs and changes in eligibility and access, may affect low-income households in our region. By bringing together community members, nonprofit organizations, service providers, researchers, and policymakers, we hope to foster a shared understanding of these challenges, identify emerging needs, and discuss evidence-based strategies to support individuals and families throughout Southern Arizona.

The event is free with light refreshments served. Free parking is available at Habitat for Humanity Tucson and surrounding streets. The event is drop-in with student posters and an opening presentation at 9:30am.

RSVP is requested, but not required.
